The Fatima Event, was it a miracle?

There have been some very strange occurrences over the last century, this one being a very odd and unexplained one. Fatima, Portugal in 1917. Three children witness an apparition, on three separate occasions leading to a massive event (which was predicted by the apparition). Witnessed by over 50,000 people it is said, and was well documented. Reports say up to 80,000 witnessed it, but I’ll go with the lower estimate, which is still extremely impressive. Testimonies were taken and books have been written about this event, which has been mostly described as ‘the sun dancing in the sky’.

Much was going on at that time in history with the first world war and the ‘Spanish flu pandemic’, so it’s possible that it was barely even noticed outside of Portugal with various media blackouts happening at the time. The church however, were straight on it, declaring it visions of the Virgin Mary and taking it over pretty much and then deciding on what information to release about what the apparition told the children.

It’s quite a strange story, with the Vatican being at the centre of withholding the information on the third prophecy that was apparently given, and the oldest child involved went onto to become a nun, and never disclosed what was revealed to them. All very odd. But of main interest to me, was the completely conflicting testimonies of what people said they experienced and witnessed, kind of throwing into the spotlight how we say a witness is the weakest form of evidence. How our perception and memory aren’t always entirely truthful or accurate, but we are very trusting of what we think we see or know. In that occurrence though, it was generally agreed the sun moved from its fixed position and did move across the sky, there was light, movement, brilliance, some people got drenched and were soaked through after, others were dry. And no-one really knows what happened, what it was, or what they did actually see. Only what they thought they saw, which was not the same as others when described.

Giving a very classic example of how we all are experiencing Separate Realities, different viewpoints, perspectives and visual perception, as also mentioned in Seeing Colours. Showing that when it comes to things that appear to be seen by many, we really cannot presume that they all saw the same thing. And that event was in front of people, in the flesh as you might say, compared to much of what we ‘see’ today by way of screens and paper reports of things. Which of course can be manipulated, fabricated, edited and of course tailored to suit one pair of eyes, without them even knowing. What are looking at, is not necessarily what you are seeing, what a strange concept but does seem entirely reasonable. Makes me wonder about all the other things I ‘think’ I have seen…

A Visual Deception

This idea probably ties in to my article Is Blue the Original Green?, and is perhaps a follow on from How It Looks From The Inside, as that was from an overall, bigger picture view and idea, of the entire expanse of space being a projection beyond where we are. This one is focusing on a more local deception, and I will use a few films (as also noted in the other article), as reference for where it ‘appears’ you can deceive people visually, which then helps to reinforce the mental belief that it’s real.

The Island – there was a holographic ‘outside’ which simulated an above surface contained environment, there were a number of lies holding that place together, and with most delicate scenarios, once one gets revealed, it can cause a chain reaction.

Resident Evil – in the first film, they showed the underground Hive where the employees worked, with a fake view of a city and a blue sky as a picture on the outside of the windows. To stop the workers getting jittery I suppose, but we all know what was really down there and what they should have been jittery about.

Ascension – an entire ‘spaceship’ was deceived into thinking they were travelling through space with a full view of the outside, and suffering from events and catastrophes within the contained environment. It was a weird series to be honest, with many layers of psychological issues and behaviour that is allowed to develop within the ‘ranks’ on ship. Preset roles and rules they were given and kept to it. But, behind that, it turns out the project actually stole very bright children, tricked them, lied to them, so they could use them for an experiment to bring about an evolutionary advancement. Like I said, weird but a good watch.

Star Trek Insurrection – the holodeck, used to great purpose in the film to relocate the people of a planet without them being aware of it, so they can steal the resources of the planet which happen to keep you young and increase your lifespan by hundreds of years. Similar perhaps to what we feel like has happened to us I guess, where we are told of brighter times and kingdoms, things were bigger, we had magic and could live rather long lives. And then it seems it was corrupted, and here we are.

Many people have now worked out how screens are being used to heavily manipulate what we think we see and know, and have done for a while from media and television. Showing you what they want you to see, creating the ‘reality’ they want you to think exists so you start living as if it does, which then can help to create it. A disturbing loop we are part of. But newspapers and propaganda peddlers have always been there to try and get to you, and lay the foundations for a certain way of thought to take hold and then keep you in that loop. Being stoked and agitated when needed for cause and effect, and of course to implement the social changes required by the few for the many. If people can start to see through the Characters of Illusion, then maybe they stand a chance at noticing the overall deception, we will see…
