It was just there in the sink, with droplets and shadows, looking quite artistic.

More fun with oil drops, shadows and light.

Turns out I really do enjoy painting trees, and with the new style I’m doing it requires a black, white and grey painting first before the colour glaze is added after with oil paints.
I have decided to keep a couple of them without colour as they are very pleasing to my eye, it’s thoroughly satisfying being able to create these. Just finding the time is difficult at the moment.

Light, shadows, depth and perspective is something I have always wished I could do with drawing or painting. I finally found a medium I can explore that with. And mixed with another favourite, nature.
There have been a few other experimental pieces which I’ll share over the coming days. Some have worked ok, some not so much, but still have something about them. We’ll see where it goes from here.

A rather nice light was coming through the kitchen window yesterday onto the orchids. I went and grabbed my colourful oil painting as a background for some orchid shadows.

I spent time looking at this painting growing up as it was on the wall at my grandparents. It impressed on me as you would say. So years later when they asked if there were any ornaments or art I would like to have, I picked this one and a few others.
My eyes enjoy this painting very much. It’s done with an airbrush (I think) and the artist tag is Medina. That is all I know.

Sometimes the light comes through and hits the dog just perfectly. Unfortunately she usually moves as soon as she sees me try to get a picture. But this time I was lucky, I was able to twist round in my chair and get the shot! Not a perfect photograph, but still one that makes me happy.

Sometimes the light just catches her little face perfectly and it’s a still moment to try and reach for the camera or phone before she moves. Photography inside the house makes her excited, I guess because I get excited. Outside so far she just sits next to me, but we haven’t got to the spring yet when macro season starts for me, so we shall see.
