The ripening is upon us.

I’ve managed to grow a full Purple Basil plant, there a few more little ones that I’ve saved from being munched. But I always plant extra so there’s enough for the wildlife too. The bees have been loving the flowers on this though as well.

It’s back, and has made it another year! The little orchid is looking good and has started flowering again. The new shoot was hiding under a leaf so I didn’t see it for ages, but now we have ghost orchid and friends.

The plant that just keeps on giving. Spider plant. The parent plant was on the brink of death (turns out I still have a knack of killing houseplants), but gave it some love, a new pot and gave some of the shoots the same. They are coming along nicely now.

This morning there was a tiny snail making his way over the basil…

This little plants creeps around the steps and although it is often called a pest, the little yellow flowers bring a bit of brightness.

Its seeds are rather fun though, and have a way to ensure they spread. You get little pods of seeds, almost like mini pea pods. But when you touch them, they pop and spray the seeds. It made me jump when I touched one last year before I knew what plant it was.

But this year, those seeds must have popped up into my pots, because its now creeping and covering as it goes. Its fun letting nature do its thing.
