We are lucky to have fly them over the garden quite often, so I get to take my time and try and get a good shot. Occasionally I do 🙂

Jumping spider #1
Had a good little selection of things to photograph at the weekend in the garden. This little one was on the door frame before I even got outside and I managed to catch him on the run. I have some great shots from Spain and will post more as they are really cute when you get a moment to look at them. (unless spiders really aren’t your thing, then maybe not so cute).

Not the best shot as it wouldn’t turn around and was quite shy. But such beautiful colours and a metallic look.

Stonechat close up
We had a number of stonechats in Spain which frequented the garden, giving me ample opportunity to get some good shots. But this one stopped near me while I happened to already have my camera in hand and didn’t mind me gradually getting closer and closer. Even singing a bit while I was taking pictures. You can’t help get the feeling sometimes nature enjoys being watched.

Conehead Mantis – small
I even got to see a second conehead mantis, quite a bit smaller and different colour to the large purple one.

September Spider
I don’t know what type of spider this is, only that it was in the garden in early September. I can’t wait for spring to begin and some colour and life to return.

Calendula
I planted these in the garden last year and it kept flowering for a while with lots of heads. A really nice and bright addition to the garden.

A lovely blue butterfly found in southern North America, Central America, and northern South America. And butterfly farms, which is where I took this pic.
