Cherry tree 2023

Exciting is the best word for it. This Cherry Tree started from a pip dropped by birds and as it starts it’s third year, I have spotted blossom! So am quite chuffed about that.

July 2020

It looked super healthy the first year, and following that one. Last year was a bit touch and go with not watering it enough I think, and a rather slick ant farm operation that installed itself on it. I gave up fighting it in the end, but it struggled through.

And now as the new leaves get going, I spotted two blossom flowers, so am hopeful it will continue well on its growing journey this year.

Alone online: Seen but not heard. — Aunty Social World

Social media is a minefield for those of us with disabilities and mental health struggles. We’ve all had moments where we see someone else tweeting about their struggles, it resonates and so we then do the same. Only we don’t get treated the same. This blog post is for anyone who has ever been silenced or felt ignored for speaking openly about their mental health online.

Spring 2023

Spring in now underway, even though the weather is choppy and changeable, the plants are just getting on, as we all do.

Things starting to poke through, not all identifiable yet, but clearly things I thought had died off for good, didn’t. And some flowers I let the seeds fall for are doing their thing. Calendula coming back, blueberries starting to bud and the rosemary bush is getting ready to flower. So tasty salads to come in the near future.

It’s looking good so far. The elderberry plant now looks established after being a scrawny stow away found growing round the side, so we’ll how that goes this year. Some seeds went out yesterday for a few things, fingers crossed for those, and some seeding is planned. Time to get on 🌿

We Are Not Obsolete

We harvest energy from the sun and convert it, storing some and using when need. We can perform a range of functions that take a multitude of gadgets, devices and robots (all designed and originally built by people I might add). We can adapt and change if needed. It sounds like they want us to believe we are the old, and AI and robotics is the new.

But I see us as an already incredible functioning system which is the best of both of what they are looking to have instead. And the tinkering and tampering with the systems we have, is leading to disaster in my mind, and in the real world around us. Wanting to have such a great version of two things, that you combine it to make a crappier version of both. And maybe that’s how they see us, as the merged result of mechanics and wiring, that they would like to separate out, to need two things to perform a function. Hardware and usually software is needed for a machine to perform a task, we are both, born with both, which can naturally develop, or can be influenced or rewired. Although to be fair, we have apparently witnessed the results of if you don’t mentally give the software input to work with. To me I guess the example for that was the orphanages in Romania that hit the news a couple of decades ago, neglected children who had no stimulation or care, and were restrained in some cases – so not able to go about the usual pathways the brain and body would find on their own. I also think of our situation as that film Short Circuit, where the military grade robot is struck by lightning and gains a sentient personality, but is then consumed by in insatiable need for learning and ‘input’, so it can learn and develop and gain understanding. It’s seems like one of those silly 80’s movies, but I thought it was a great example of people, machines and ‘simulated life’. I guess The Matrix then moved in and gave us an entirely different perspective on man and machine, just as the terminator films before them. And I have written previously about Is it really the machines we should fear?

Because it seems that people are currently the problem, hiding behind machines. Far more serious than ‘keyboard warriors’, these people actually call the shots on society and people’s lives. And now using said technology to digitally imprison people in the real world, because just like the theory in The Matrix of us being harvested for our energy as ‘batteries’, maybe a need has arisen for them to have a similar type of set up.

To harvest the honey, we set up bees to go about their usual business, but it is in a confined, controlled environment, for our benefit. Their queen is placed so they will follow, they are given a ‘hive’ for them use as a factory to create what will be taken. In our situation, we are the bees, and whatever they want us for, is the honey. Whether it be energy, our thoughts and ideas, our compliance – it is still something they need, or at a minimum want. So, it seems until now, they have provided the perfect ‘factory’ for us, to go about our business, building things for them, fighting wars for them, jumping through hoops for them, just so we are ‘allowed’ to get on. Well, it would now appear that the needs might have changed somewhat, because they seem intent on slowly dismantling the existing infrastructure around us, and replacing us with new bees. But ones which don’t have to work, or produce anything, or on first appearances, do anything at all apart from just be there. Suspicious, isn’t it? We all know it’s not going well with thousands of people being offered everything on a plate, riling up the ones who have mostly not had anything handed on a plate, and in fact, are having their plates currently taken away from them. There is a price to all this, and one we won’t be able to measure just yet, but the expectations of people arriving are being manipulated for gain, just as they are using the people already here. But if you require a new mindset and outcome from what you previously had, then you need to overhaul the business and change the staff, which is what it feels like they are doing. Out with the old, in with the new, corporate style.

Because it looks very much to people On the ground, that there is a replacement going on, of the current systems, traditions, culture and people. If you read the Kalergi Plan, it does seem awfully close to what is occurring. Manufacture issues abroad, create displaced people, move them to where you need them, which then helps to break down and displace wherever they go. A problem is not solved by moving it along, but that is what politicians do, usually because they don’t know what to do, and won’t be there for too long in that position, so it doesn’t really matter about solving anything. Problems? Those are for people, not politicians. They just collect their salary, expenses, perks, pay-off and everything else that seems to make them really quite wealthy from ‘serving the people’. Makes you realise why it’s such a tight knit group, that gravy train has been going for quite some time and none of them want it to stop, not here or any other country. Power has very much gone to their head, we’ve seen it all over, laughing at the camera when asked serious questions, not answering, looking like a petulent teenager. I could be talking about any number of people there from a number of countries, weird, isn’t it? As if all those ‘Young leaders of the future’ that have ‘penetrated the cabinets’ aren’t quite all there. It’s noticeable, and people have wondered whether they are just so devoid of proper feelings that they aren’t able to show proper emotions, or answer very straightforward questions, or be able to maintain a normal interaction with an average person. Almost as if they have been tampered with, not just inserted into a cabinet, but rewired and programmed for a set purpose and cannot deviate, even if they wanted to. Invasion of the body snatchers style, but just with the mind. But the cold hard reality of it, is that these people are not acting in the best interests of anybody but themselves, and definitely not the millions of people they are charged with governing. They are not fit for our purpose, but appear to be for theirs. And just as our usefulness here in the UK appears to have run its course for the controllers, I can’t help but wonder what fate awaits all those ‘leaders’ who have played such a pivotal role in this, once their purpose has run its course…

Homemade hoisin sauce

Didn’t have any when needed, so thought I would see what the ingredients are and how difficult it was to make. Turns out very easy to make, and almost had the ingredients, but what I didn’t have, I had the substitutes for. It wasn’t quite the same taste, but it was still really nice, and after a bit of tinkering, I believe it will be better.

But here is the line up of ingredients.

4 tbsp Soy Sauce

2.5 tbsp Golden Syrup (should have been mollasses)

1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar (should have been rice wine vinegar)

2 tpsp Light Olive Oil (should have been sesame oil)

2 tbsp peanut butter, I used crunchy, but some recipes called for smooth, which I might try next time

1 garlice clove minced, they said two, but were quite large so didn’t want to overdo it

3 tbsp Sweet Chilli Sauce (the recipe I read used Sriracha sauce)

1/4 tsp ground pepper – I just used black pepper

The recipes I read also use cornstartch and water, but I didn’t need it as it thickened up just fine on it’s own.

So, the method was, put in all in together and heat gently until it all combines and starts to thicken up. Took about 10 to 15 minutes, but you’ll just have to judge it yourself. It thickens further once cooled as well, and is sticky and sweet. Good first attempt I thought.

People Need More, And Less

People need more, and less. Not more greed, of that there is plenty. And currently people think they need more money as that is what is being screamed at us every day. Make more, want more, spend more. Fuelling the greed machine. But that isn’t what we need more of. People need lower costs, less need for money, more time and more effort to be put in by everyone for better. You can’t just want better; you have to be part of what happens to bring it about. But it seems that the idea of better has been stolen and corrupted as with much else these days. Build back better was a rouse, to make people think the words were enough, and then to sit back and wait for someone else to deliver that ‘better’. They knew that. All these buzzwords and new terms they introduce and make go mainstream are all just that, buzzwords, marketing tricks to get into your head and subconsciously get you on board with repetition and over exposure.

Because of how we function as a society, it becomes about money and necessity for most people, and money and greed for others, everything ties back to it and revolves around it. We are at the whim of it. They have made sure of that. Like taming a tiger I guess, once you know the whip works and you can crack it when needed, why wouldn’t you? It becomes an extension of control. The ring master isn’t controlling the tiger by himself, is he? He needs something else to have control over it, even if it is just temporary, and because the tiger plays along. It’s a precarious ‘relationship’ they have though, knowing the tiger could turn at any moment. In that instance, it is the whip, in our instance, it is money that is the extension of themselves they use to control us. Now, wouldn’t it be easier to control that tiger if you didn’t need a whip at all? If you could just implant something into it to make it ‘work’ and ‘sit’ and to immobilise it at the push of a button, you know, for the ‘safety’ of the ringmaster.

So, imagine you are the tiger, and they are the ring master. And the whip is currently money. How they get us to jump through hoops for it, compete for it, dream about it, die for it. All the while it is dangled as an incentive, used as punishment or reward, wielded as a weapon of control, where it can make you or break you. Welcome to the circus, where we are the attractions and the audience. Where you weirdly cheer and clap while in the audience, knowing full well you are next up in the ring for ‘entertainment and humiliation’, it’s quite perverse really. Especially so when you realise that you even paid for your own ‘ticket’. I can see why people have made comedic comparisons to films like Running Man, Maze Runner and The Hunger Games, and although we may laugh, we know they aren’t jokes. They are merely as a means to convey an observation, but in a less dramatic fashion that being deadly serious and demanding people see what you see. As we know some people have a classic blind spot in their view of the world, and it’s called reality. They will avoid it, contest it and deny it at every opportunity.

Once you step into the ‘Ring of Life’ though, you are no longer part of the audience, and become part of the grotesque display that is there to entertain you, until it is your time. But think of where the participants go after the show, the animals are led back to their cages, staff go back to their normal routine of keeping and maintaining the ‘show’. And that’s where we are folks, the normal routine of a circus isn’t a 24-hour thing, it’s a very, very big show when the time is right, bringing all the elements together when needed to dazzle, amaze and bamboozle people. Then it goes back to the daily routine of keeping it all going until the next one. But in between they don’t let the animals out, they continue with training, and making them comply and remember what they need to do, when they need to do it. So, it isn’t just the ringmaster, is it? There are different levels of people needed to perform different functions, but they are all part of the trickery, buffoonery, illusion and overall show, just as in real life. Where the prospective audience isn’t even involved until the time is right. Where it is made to feel like all smiles and fun and is expected to be, but with a dark sinister undertone. The circus of life, roll up, roll up, welcome to the show…

So many now choose… (poetry)

So many now choose

To focus their thoughts

Efforts and time

To more than we’re taught

Because it would seem

That the system they teach

Is more to control

And gain greater reach

It’s not about learning

And indeed never was

But spreading their ethos

And ideals just because

It suited their purpose

To condition a nation

To give them the keys

To the whole population

So when the time came

It appeared in the bag

But as it unfolded

There seemed a big snag

It started as small

Then started to grow

Numbers got bigger

And started to show

Something was wrong

And not what they said

More started digging

And pulling the thread

~

And it all began to unravel

Not all the same

Another of Grandpa’s analogies that helped me understand how things are and why things cannot be as we wish, or as we may have perceived them to be. I guess I must have been in my 20’s when he put this one to me. I believe we were talking about socialism and people on benefits, possibly because I had not quite grasped yet the finer points of people, yet thought I knew about society. I didn’t understand why people just wanted handouts, really wanted them on an ongoing basis. Here is what he said

You have three people who start equal in wealth, and have a farm each to grow beans.

The first farmer works really hard and gets a good crop, the second farmer has not such a good year, but still worked hard enough, but got less. The third farmer couldn’t be bothered and didn’t grow any beans.

Socialism = the first farmer must share out his good crop, benefitting the lazy farmer as well as the second farmer. So each year, there is no incentive for the third farmer to do better, and can make the first and second farmer not want to bother.

Capitalism = first farmer buys out third farmer and owns more.

Communism = All farmers must grow the same, lazy is not an option.

That’s a black and white view of what was put forward or at least how I viewed it. Because the lines become a bit blurry it seems between socialism and communism. And as I have gotten older, capitalism appears to be so very heartless, therefore it doesn’t seem the way forward if we are to benefit as a group.

I asked someone once I knew who was on benefits for a number of years after a MH incident, which was valid initially. But after 5 years or so I asked “when are you going to get back out there, into the workplace?” The answer disappointed me very much. It was this “well, I’m just going to stay on benefits for a bit, to work out what I want to do with my life”. I was shocked, not gonna lie. This was someone close to me in my life at the time, so not what u was expecting. I was working really hard, trying to build my business, paying taxes and employing people, and was a bit disheartened by that attitude. That the taxpayer was there to buy other people time to sit back, let their kids have no structure and be paid for by handouts and ‘take their time’. Not me. I didn’t like that attitude at all, and chose to not be around it after it becomes obvious you can’t help them along, they will only hold you back. Harsh, but true.

I am not foolish enough to think we can have some utopic society where we are all the same, and have the same wants, needs and goals and it’s all smiles and laughter. That would be weird, but there does need to be some balance to it all. And it woukd be nice to just have unlimited time and resources to be what you want, but whose time are you wasting? Yours.

While we are the whim of a corrupt prevailing attitude from the people on the ground to the people at the top who run the show, there will be no cohesion or way forward. Not yet at least anyway…
