I like this one very much. Not perfect, but pleasing to my eye.

Some more abstract oil drops. It was pretty cool to get a tri coloured effect in the background. Turns out using books with different covers helped ๐

Those years of randomly collecting pretty shells finally found a purpose. Being photo props. My new found enjoyment is backgrounds – setting them up and trying to get a good shot on top of them – this one isn’t great, but getting there.
Just a pink shell.

Welcome to The Batacombes.
I have a feeling this may end up being a book cover or idea, I have had a new story brewing for a while now that this may just fit. Well, If I can just get on and finish all the other works in progress…

As I was doing more oil drops photography, five little bubbles collected in what appeared to be a dog paw shape ๐พ ๐

Managed to get some pretty cool effects going on with oil drops, this time trying something different with lighting and angles. There may be more to come, I have been busy…

Was having some fun with photography that wasn’t nature, I had forgotten how much fun it can be to just play around. Between working, writing, painting, playing with my dog and general tasks and life, it’s not always easy to find the time or to be in the mood for it. Colours, props, lighting and trying different angles. Funnily enough, the short time I was at art college a long time ago now, photography week was the only one I was in attendance for every day!
I give you – Bismuth.
Further down is an animated version ๐
