What is on show
The greatest crime
We’ll never know
Shown just what
We’re meant to see
Given a choice
But not for free
What they take
Is more than thought
A new future
Is being taught
And it’s coming…

In crazy times
Thoughts & words
Were deemed crimes
But in that way
We’ve always been
Told what is right
And what’s obscene
But best these days
To keep your thought
Inside your head
So you’ll be taught
That it’s best
To pretend
In case you find
You do offend

Than we would ask
Of ourselves
A particular task
One which robs you
Of your will
It shuts you down
And yet you still
Believe somewhere
Inside your brain
Thinking we
Can take the strain
But for how long?…

But only if
They have a stage
Showing off
Their tiny mind
In some strange way
Hoping to find
A kind of release
From all the strain
The hurt in mind
And all the pain
But thought it takes
Not through fear
And time will tell
If they will hear

How they make you
‘Fall in line’
People shaping
Is what they do
Programs set
For me and you
For social order
That’s what they say
But it’s comply
You must obey
In their schemes
They did find
Just how to control
Your will and mind
But to what end?

They just don’t like
Our unity
It holds a threat
We just can’t hide
Their plan of conquer
And divide
Is clearly plain
And seems so set
But still I think

Before this time
It seems as though
It was not mine
A different chapter
In a book
That once you read
And now mistook
As just a film
Stuck on rewind
A faded episode
That stays in mind

But they can’t know

The mind can’t rest

Are doomed to go
