A reading of my article – Are You Dreaming?

What is it that defines what you think you should have? Personal wants, preferences, and desires are all built around your personality and model of thinking and feeling they say. Ego also plays a pivotal role. But at what point does admiration become envy, and why in some does it take that step over the fine line to jealousy? Sometimes then taking on an extra competitive edge, covered slightly in Who’s Got The Biggest… And of course, general conditioning can’t be overlooked. What you see and absorb throughout your life, and all the influences within that play a part really do help to create and nurture the desire aspect needed for it to become so ingrained, it becomes a way of life and as the mindset of the masses.
Consumerism and Social Status in particular have a leading role. To create the class system of separation and a desire to be something else, to help with that social pecking order we have. But first you need people to want that, to want to ‘Keep up with the Joneses’, and base what they think they want, on what someone else has or on what they appear to have or be. Not even knowing perhaps if that person too is trying to keep up with someone else and isn’t even being themselves. And it’s taken an even stranger turn, with jealousy and ego combining to create a rather psychologically unstable ‘admirer’ of what you are. Almost as if being ‘better than’ isn’t on the cards anymore, it seems to be turning into ‘existing instead of’. Where a Single White Female type ends up so detached from themselves, and so desperate to be something else, I guess they start hating and becoming obsessional over that which they covet. Revealing that ugly and hateful feelings can often be under the surface of what appears to be admiration.
But in order to get people to play the game of wanting more, or to be something else, you first need people to be aware of what they could be having, or doing, or wanting. Don’t get me wrong, I believe inspiration is a good thing, and looking at what others are or what they have is normal in my opinion, to understand what it is you actually want or to be. But is it perhaps that inspiration and reality are at quite opposite ends of the spectrum for some, and if you do not have a realistic attitude of ability or skillset, then I guess it leaves a rather wide gap for things like envy to rear its head in some people. And then spill over into jealousy and go on to cause all sorts of different behaviours and thoughts based on either the delusion that gets mentally put in place, or the hatred of the reality that is understood. Either of those scenarios often seems to bring an awful lot of trouble with it.
But it has been encouraged for the longest time now, to sell products, lifestyles, dreams and ideas of what you think you could be, conveniently often not factoring in what you already are, and often they are other people’s dreams and ideas. And for some that will be enough, looking to something else to give you all the ideas and lead you, and for someone else to tell you who to be and facilitate that. But sometimes I can’t help thinking it’s better to have your own ideas and dreams, and most of all, know who you are…

This idea probably ties in to my article Is Blue the Original Green?, and is perhaps a follow on from How It Looks From The Inside, as that was from an overall, bigger picture view and idea, of the entire expanse of space being a projection beyond where we are. This one is focusing on a more local deception, and I will use a few films (as also noted in the other article), as reference for where it ‘appears’ you can deceive people visually, which then helps to reinforce the mental belief that it’s real.
The Island – there was a holographic ‘outside’ which simulated an above surface contained environment, there were a number of lies holding that place together, and with most delicate scenarios, once one gets revealed, it can cause a chain reaction.
Resident Evil – in the first film, they showed the underground Hive where the employees worked, with a fake view of a city and a blue sky as a picture on the outside of the windows. To stop the workers getting jittery I suppose, but we all know what was really down there and what they should have been jittery about.
Ascension – an entire ‘spaceship’ was deceived into thinking they were travelling through space with a full view of the outside, and suffering from events and catastrophes within the contained environment. It was a weird series to be honest, with many layers of psychological issues and behaviour that is allowed to develop within the ‘ranks’ on ship. Preset roles and rules they were given and kept to it. But, behind that, it turns out the project actually stole very bright children, tricked them, lied to them, so they could use them for an experiment to bring about an evolutionary advancement. Like I said, weird but a good watch.
Star Trek Insurrection – the holodeck, used to great purpose in the film to relocate the people of a planet without them being aware of it, so they can steal the resources of the planet which happen to keep you young and increase your lifespan by hundreds of years. Similar perhaps to what we feel like has happened to us I guess, where we are told of brighter times and kingdoms, things were bigger, we had magic and could live rather long lives. And then it seems it was corrupted, and here we are.
Many people have now worked out how screens are being used to heavily manipulate what we think we see and know, and have done for a while from media and television. Showing you what they want you to see, creating the ‘reality’ they want you to think exists so you start living as if it does, which then can help to create it. A disturbing loop we are part of. But newspapers and propaganda peddlers have always been there to try and get to you, and lay the foundations for a certain way of thought to take hold and then keep you in that loop. Being stoked and agitated when needed for cause and effect, and of course to implement the social changes required by the few for the many. If people can start to see through the Characters of Illusion, then maybe they stand a chance at noticing the overall deception, we will see…

A new find for me in the garden, a leopard slug just happened to be out in full view well into the morning. So I relocated it and got to appreciate its markings, looking like a fingerprint texture through the spots.
