I give some thought… (poetry)

I give some thought

To where this goes

There are theories

But nobody knows

For sure what’s really

Going to unfold

Just sit tight

And do as your told

Is what they say

But it makes no sense

Treating us all

Like we must be dense

Lies and deceit

Right from the start

Each person picked

To play their part

In taking that

Which we hold dear

And replacing normality

With a landscape of fear

Rhyme and Reason

Butterfly #1

I have no idea what type of butterfly this is as I only managed to take a picture with it’s wings closed, despite it being taken at a butterfly farm! I have looked through the pages of options and nothing fits so far. There will be more to come, but this is one of my favourite pictures, in fact I think they all are 😉

Learning to paint #4

Continuing with watercolours I redid the cactus and night sky ones, choosing to do different colour combinations to see what works best.

And as I like a bit of sparkle, got a bit distracted by the metallic paints 😁 I’m not sure which one is my favourite because I love them all.

Now I’m back on the acrylics to see what I can do with these effects in different paints.

Learning to paint #3

Slowly getting there and finding styles I like. I picked two tutorials, cactus sunrise and a northern lights sky. Pleased with both but instantly wanted to do the northern lights one again and have been this last weekend. Second attempt was much better! but will be on the next post. Turns out my next cactus one was pretty good too, but it all has to start somewhere.

I also wanted to see if I could recreate one of my own sunset photographs. The one I chose I have as a set of coasters so could put it in front of me to paint. Not quite exact, but I’m happy with the results.

Wild Orchids (Spain)

Out on one of our walks in Spain, we stumbled across these orchids up in the hills. I was so excited to find not just one wild orchid type, but three! I have found a few wild orchids in the UK while out walking the dogs but never with a camera in hand. Spain however is vastly different, wildlife and insects literally just lying around. Sometimes I figured it was just too hot to do anything, for them included. Which was great for photo opportunities (hence the abundance of photos I have from spending just two years there). But these were a real treat to see.
