Kats Cards

I used to make cards for friends and family for Christmas and birthdays and everyone always seemed to love them.

So after a few years of no longer having anyone to make cards for I decided to see if anyone out there might like them 😁

I brought some new coloured card having previously only used red, blue, green and pale lilac. I use my hand drawn art to print on the card, then I add the extra touches by hand. Once I have a set completed, then I will post the finished product. Getting the reflective silver and gold to shimmer in the photographs isn’t working out so well yet.

Infinity – Book Review

Having only recently got back into reading short stories I was very happy with this choice.

This story is a bit longer than a short, and a bit shorter than a novella, but it wasn’t noticed once I started reading.

Infinity by Marc W Shako.

Quite an unusual storyline, reminiscent of Logans Run for me, but slightly more gritty and quite fast paced. Each chapter led on well to the next and although the immediate story going on was wrapped up, there was the implication of much more. It would be nice to see the story developed into a full novel. But definite thumbs up from me.

Today’s sunrise (16.11.20)

I love sunrise and today I was up at the right time to catch it. Not one to usually want to remember anniversaries of things, but today marks 17 years since my mother passed away. She loved pink, so maybe this one was for her 🙂

These changed within about 5-10 minutes from pink to purple to looking like the sky has become a volcano. A nice way to start the say.

Matrix motif (VN.714)

I love patterns and photography, and managed to find a way to mix the two. All of my patterns are from my own macro and nature photography turned into bright and colourful designs. There are over 1200 original designs in my shop and all are available on a range of products. If you want to add a bit of colour to your life, I’ve got you covered 🙂

Link for this product as the bottom of post, but feel free to ask if any assistance is required to help pick a colour or design.

So much has happened… (poetry)

So much has happened

It’s hard to explain

And so consumed

One can’t contain

The rug’s been pulled

From underfoot

While what you knew

Is firmly put

Away, behind you

To be no more

The futures changed

And now seems war

Is being raged

Against your mind

Manipulated

I think you’ll find

What they seek

They do not hide

To conquer us

They must divide

What we think

And friend from friend

And forward we go

To whatever end

Rhyme and Reason

Cherry Tree…

A cherry pip dropped into our garden earlier this year and took root. From an established tree in our road, the birds have been distributing the seeds by flyover.

Mostly a few here and there, picked up and discarded so the dog doesn’t eat them. But I planted a few and one appeared growing on it’s own. That’s the one that has made it and I gave it it’s own pot – I can’t have it growing in the ground as it would be too close to the house. Hopefully it makes it through the winter and can be repotted in the spring for the next growing season.

These first two photos were taken in July, only a few months after they sprouted. It’s exciting to see how quickly trees can grow.

Now Autumn has set in, the leaves turned a wonderful orangey yellow and into deep red as the days and weeks have progressed.

I’ll miss the leaves for a little while.

Winter is well on the way, the little cherry tree is taking a bit of a battering and will soon just look like a stick, waiting to burst back into visible life in the spring. I look forward to it.

Experimental Chemistry — Fictionspawn

Dirk had been sitting in the jar for days. He was hungry and thirsty, and there was no one around. He had no idea where he was or how he had gotten there. The last thing he remembered was eating some strawberries in the forest. Then he had gotten sleepy. The door opened. A giant figure came in, long and thin, dark and grey. It looked at him and smiled an evil grin. This monster did not have good intentions. Dirk got up on his feet. Maybe, if he was lucky, he could find some way to escape this horror, some moment when his keeper would look the other way. If he could only get out of the jar, he could make a run for it. His abductor looked around the room. He found a test tube, poured some transparent liquid into it. He searched some more, swearing in some strange language. Lifting books, moving glasses and bottles. He found what he was looking for, a little bottle. Opened it, poured it into the tube. Smoke emerged. The test tube changed colour. The chemist laughed. He took a deep smell of the smoke coming up. Dirk could see a flash of madness in his eyes, a triumph he didn’t like at all… (more)

Choppy skies out walking…

The weather has definitely taken a choppy turn. As autumn turns into winter, a few good skies can still be caught at the right time.

A walk in the park the other day had some very dark clouds, but it made for a really nice contrast against the bright blue strip of clear sky getting smaller by the minute.

We only got a bit wet but it was worth it.

She has a great time running around the park, whatever the weather.
